Environmental Stewardship and Certification

Environmental Social Governance (ESG)

Olympic Resource Management (ORM) has a fiduciary duty to its unit holders and investors and believes the implementation of ESG values helps ensure both our short-term and long-term profitability and, ultimately, our relevance in the businesses in which we operate. We consider environmental, public health, safety and social issues when evaluating properties for purchase, as well as while managing those properties. We implement our ESG policy through a broad range of institutional controls to ensure that the values of stewardship and sustainability are understood and appropriately integrated into our business model. This includes compliance with all applicable laws and regulations across the jurisdictions in which we operate. Finally, we strive to engage with, and be accessible to, stakeholders and the communities in which we operate in order to broaden the understanding of, and garnish support for, the ESG principles we implement. Our full ESG policy can be found here.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®)

ORM fully supports sustainable forestry certification methodologies for timberlands worldwide. We currently operate all lands we manage for timber production to the SFI® standards. The SFI® program integrates the perpetual growing and harvesting of trees with the conservation of wildlife and aquatic habitats, soil, air and water quality, carbon, biological diversity, recreation, and aesthetics. Annually since 2003, Price Waterhouse Coopers has independently verified the lands we own and manage for forestry as being in compliance with the SFI® standard. More about the SFI® program can be found here
